Halloween at Hunter: A Photo Essay

By: Rei Wolfsohn and Cassidy LaPointe

Many Hunter students thought they would be the only one in a costume on campus this Halloween— but they weren’t.

In this photo essay, reporter Rei Wolfsohn and photographer Cassidy LaPointe teamed up to capture photos of Hunter students who came to campus sporting fun and spooky costumes. Here are just a few of those costumes spotted by The Envoy, though there were many more in attire referencing mythical creatures, beloved cartoon characters, and iconic pop culture figures.

Dressed as a witch, Sumayia Rashid says, “I feel like it’s my alter ego.”

Joanna Vila says, “Coraline is my favorite movie. I just had it and I was like, ‘That looks like the other mother’s dress.’”

Dressed as Bimpsie, a character from a podcast, Maya Sequira says, “It’s fully just for me.”

Dressed as Bambi, Isabell Derenoncourt says, “Halloween is my favorite.”

Margareth Cuevas, dressed as Luffy, says, “I thought it would be kinda simple.”

Daniel Donahue says, “Alucard (the costume) is Dracula spelled backwards.”

From left to right: Cindy Chabla, Ashley Lacson, Jackelyn Santa Maria and Maui Cate Tumanda.

“People have told me before that I look like Audrey Hepburn,” says Bela Gogiashvili.

Donning a Medusa headband, Melody Mirza says, “Each snake stands for one of my old friends.”

Wainell Brown says, “(Clawdeen Wolf) is my favorite character.”
